Pollinators: Essential Resources
STEP 1: ESSENTIAL RESOURCES PLANTS AND ANIMALS NEED TO SURVIVE
All living things need certain resources to stay alive. Can you think of what these may be?
What do you need to live? What do you need or use every day that allows you to survive the day and nature’s elements, like wind, rain, snow, etc.?
ESSENTIAL RESOURCES FOR LIVING THINGS TO SURVIVE
The forms these resources come in differ from species to species. As we know from the last lesson, plants need bacteria and fungi to access nutrients, herbivores can’t digest meat, and carnivores can’t derive enough nutrients from plants. But, all species need the process of pollination to survive— either directly or indirectly, as you learned in Lesson 1. But first, I bet you’re wondering…What is pollination?
